Reflexology is an ancient healing art that dates back thousands of years (approx 2330BC). Its origins can be traced back to the ancient Indian, Chinese and Egyptian traditions. In ancient Egypt evidence of Reflexology use was found in the tomb of Ankhmahor.

Reflexology is closely connected to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and its use has been evidenced in the renowned ancient medical text ‘The Huangdi Neijing -Yellow Emperors Classic of Internal Medicine’. In TCM theory the bodies ‘life force’ runs through key meridian channels within the body. Of which these channels either begin or end in the fingers or toes. Reflexology works to stimulate these channels, improve vital chi energy flow and contribute to overall harmony within the body.
